Dear Customers,
As you know Jason from Rapido Trains was here last week showing off his test samples of the new "Canadian". The model is, as you may imagine, a very fine set with many details, and wholly Canadian. The Canadian, as most of you are aware, was the classic Canadian Pacific passenger train. It represented elegance, comfort, even luxury, and was the epitome of ways to travel the country and see the fantastic scenery of Canada.
On a personal note, my (Dan’s) grandfather was the head conductor on the Canadian between 1944 and 1964. I have been waiting all my life for someone to do this project in HO and N Scale.
I listened and watched Jason explain carefully all the details and extras that were added to make this project unique and special. This set will be an item you will want to have for your own. There are too many details to list here. We will be preparing additional images and information for you to review in the coming days.
I can tell you, since I'm intimately involved with the level of detail we put on our own NARCorp grain cars, I know the high level Jason demanded on this project. The Canadian Pacific Beaver Heralds are three dimensional (not printed on), just like the real cars! The extensive use of advanced lighting is incredible.
Now here is one fact you should consider: I model N Scale, and a little HO....I'm buying one. If you model CP, CPR, or VIA passenger service anywhere in Canada, from 1955 to the present, this is the one to buy.
Jason is only making 2,000 sets in total, if that. About 1200 are pre-sold. So, if you want one, now is the time to commit.
Given the nature of the product - an entire train set - and the cost, not only to do the molds and manufacturing, but to get it into our hands - Rapido is requiring that we submit a deposit for each and every set we order. It will, therefore, be necessary to charge each customer who orders The Canadian a deposit, which we will use to secure the orders we place with Rapido.
Please contact us, or we will be contacting you. Jason is only making enough of the train sets to fill the orders for which he has deposits, due to the complexity and the amount of money involved in this project. That deposit must be submitted by the beginning of next month.
A charge will be made to the credit cards of customers who have ordered The Canadian at some point in the next few weeks, unless other and prior arrangements are made with the administrative staff for payment of the deposit. If you have any questions please feel free to call us.
We hope you all enjoy your passenger train!
And remember to watch our website on Friday when we will announce new tooling and cars in both HO and N Scale.
Thanks, PWRS Management
