Rapido June Timetable Highlights
Osgood Bradley 10 Window Coaches
  Now Arriving!! |
The first of the new HO scale Osgood Bradley 10 window coaches are arriving this week, with many more right behind them. As the first completely American prototype offering from Rapido, these cars have been much anticipated by our US dealers and fans. Well, finally the first cars are on our shores and should be shipping to distributors in the next few days.
The first cars available are the New Haven McGinnis cars.
Coming next...
These will be followed (due to arrive the week of June 21) by the Boston & Maine maroon and Bangor and Aroostook cars.
...followed by....
After this, expect the New Haven delivery scheme, New Haven Hunter green and Boston & Maine green cars around the week of July 5. The remaining cars will follow shortly afterward.We will post the information on our web site as soon as we have updates.

Colorful LRC Coaches
After several years of development, we will FINALLY be starting production of the LRC Coaches and Club Cars NEXT MONTH! It's about time! Can you sense our relief at finally being able to tell you this?
According to Jason, these unique lightweight cars have operated on both sides of the border in both Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada service, but it's on Canadian rails that they have really come into their own. The LRC cars form the backbone of VIA's fast services in central Canada. VIA is in the process of rebuilding its cars and they will be used for another 15-20 years at least. Seeing as they are already pushing 30 years old, that's not bad for "crappy aluminum junk" as some of the old timers like to call them. The LRC is the most modern piece of equipment yet released by Rapido and is certainly one of the most striking.
(Thanks, Jason, for that paragraph on the crappy aluminum junk - Umm - I mean the really successful LRC cars! Well that's my job security out the window. Since there's no turning back now, wait until you see the Star Trek shuttlecraft i.e. the LRC locomotive. At least it SOUNDS like an Alco, even if it looks like it was smacked with a shovel.)
