Dear HO Modelers:

    Over two years ago Broadway Limited announced they were going to produce the SP Coast Daylight passenger trains. Well after a number of delays they are now coming.

   When we were talking to Broadway yesterday, we found out all of the production coming is pretty much allocated and pre-sold out. We ordered a couple extra of all the cars. We have packaged these into sets, so that our customers could get an entire train.

   We realize there are many new customers who were not on our mailing list two years ago when this project was announced. So just to remind those of you who are not aware, the Daylights are coming very soon.

   The different types of cars will arrive between July and Dec 2010. The Observation Cars will arrive in July and the Articulated Cars in August, and the 3 and single cars in Dec 2010.

   The 4-8-4 GS4 SP Locomotives to pull them, will also arrive in the fall of 2010. They will produce three versions of the Steam Engine. One of the Famous #4449 with Daylight paint scheme, the American Freedom Train, and one additional road number in the classic Daylight paint scheme. You may pick anyone of the three engines to pull your daylight.

   So if you didn't order one, or perhaps didn't know it was coming out (or didn't believe it was coming out), this is your last chance to order. Remember, Broadway is sold out. Our Distributors are sold out. And we just have a few complete sets left.

   This complete train will probably be one of the most beautiful products to come out this year. This is a must if you love passenger trains, or are a Southern Pacific fan.

    You will also notice an almost duplicate announcement from Broadway Limited's sister company - Precision Craft Models. The PCM model is for the Pre-WWII version of the Morning Daylight.

   We asked why the Pre-War version is from PCM and not Broadway. They explained, "We originally announced the project from PCM, and decided to complete the Pre-War version in PCM packaging as originally advertised". The two sets are the same other than minor structural, and painting (graphics) differences. i.e. both sets are the same superior quality and coming from the same molds.

   The Coast Daylight was a passenger train originally run by the Southern Pacific Railroad (SP) between the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco, California, via SP's Coast Line. In the eyes of many, the "most beautiful passenger train in the world" featured a stunning red, orange, and black color scheme.
