The expected delivery date for these locomotives has been changed by Athearn to March 2011. You still have a chance to order these if you have not done so.

The CF7 Locomotives are converted EMD F-units that were converted from streamlined F-units for road switching duty. All of the conversions were done by ATSF at the Cleburne, Texas workshops between October, 1970 and March, 1978. Santa Fe sold the entire CF7 fleet by 1987. Most went on to serve various short line and regional railroads. Some continue to serve today with these and on excursion lines.
