NARC - Replacement Wheels Are On The Way

 Attention HO Customers

Three years ago when we began the process to design our first car (Hawker Siddley grain hoppers) we decided to produce accurate scale wheels that could handle heavier weights and roll with less friction. The new trucks and wheels have been received with great appreciation from our customers.

We had a few customers (less than 15) who purchased Green Saskatchewan Grain Hoppers and have had problems running them on Atlas Code 100 trunouts (de-railing), due to the accuate width of the wheels. For thse of you who are not using high quality turnouts and track, please email us at NARC Wheel Replacement and we will replace the prototype scale wheels with ones having a wider tread.  This only applies to owners of The NAR Corp Green Saskatchewan Grain Hoppers.

If you are using high quality Peco, Kato, Micro-Engineering or Walther Shinohara track or turnouts, there is no need to replace the wheels. These wheels will not work on any other manufacturer's trucks as the axle length and axle socket are different. The reason the size is different was to accomidate the low friction nature of our trucks to acheive greater role-abilty.

We expect to have the new wider width wheels in our warehouse by mid to late April.  There will be no charge for the replacement wheels for those who already have purchased the Green Saskatchewan cars who wish to change.  Please let us know how many  Hawker Siddley grain hoppers you have, when placing your order.

When placing future orders for HO Scale Hawker Siddley grain hoppers customers will have the choice of ordering the alternate wheel sets to accomidate turnouts that can not handle the new High Performance - Low Friction NAR Corp wheels.

Please remember - There is nothing wrong with the car, wheels or trucks. If you use accurate track and turnouts, you will have no problems using our High Performance - Low Friction wheels and trucks.

If you use track and turnouts which were cheaply made, you will have problems. We did not build our cars to be used on less than accurate track and turnouts.
