A comment from one of our customers re the quality of the new Green Government of Saskatchewan Cars

The following is a letter received by us from one of our customers re his new Green Hawker Siddeley Saskatchewan Grain Cars. We thought we would share it with you.

Quality costs; Quality pays!

Dear Pacific Western: It was nice speaking with you this morning about my future orders of your upcoming Cylindrical Hopper products.

As I mentioned on the phone, If you examine the new Saskatchewan Grain product from the point of a Tool and Diemaker; which I was for forty years for General Electric; any modeler will soon see the exceptional detail and quality in the new grain car Pacific Western has made, and it is way above industry average.

The combination of rugged construction capable of numerous handlings, and the fine yet durable details makes this a candidate for the quality of brass construction at a very affordable price. This is my humble precis of this product. I quote my diemaking experience and critical eye for detail as proof of this above appraisal. Every word is from the heart and genuine. You are raising the bar for us modelers.

As a diemaker, I have realized for years that the standards for detail and accuracy could have been higher in the Model Railroading Industry. I have been waiting patiently for years for a company to "push the envelope" and make cars with detail similar to the Saskatchewan Car I have before me.

Re your new low friction - High Performance Trucks, I love the extra weight - Let me state here, my layout is 16 x 22 feet and it has an overall percentage grade of 1%. I released the car at the highest point on the layout and it rolled with a little push and wound up at the lowest point over 30 feet away! Bear in mind the percentage  is only 1%, this says much about the excellent wheel geometry and quality of engineering of the car. (I state this to show the rolling ability of this product.)

And I love the new semi scale wheels. I have high quality track/ turnouts. For years all of my cars had wheel sets on them with over-sized wheel treads. These are fantastic.

In total observation  I will state this is a good long term, detailed, accurate, economical rugged purchase, for a hands on model railroader.

Best regards Doug B, Ontario, Canada

Also, recently at the Edmonton Train Show, we gave the Kicking Horse Model Railroad Club a couple of test copies of our new Sask Cars. They sent us these great images. If you are ever lucky enought to see there layout at one of the Alberta Shows, it is worth looking at and enjoying.
