Athearn Genesis Reveals New FP7's Milwaulkee Road

Milwaukee Road purchased several orders of FP7s to replace their remaining passenger steam locomotives in the early 1950s. As delivered, the FP7s featured a Hiawatha logo on the nose, but no side markings (G22224 and G22226), and later the Hiawatha was removed and the standard Milwaukee Road logo was added to the cab sides (G22225 and G22227). These models represent the first order, which never received the later Union Pacific-style yellow and gray scheme and retained the orange and maroon scheme into the early 1960s.

All locomotives feature prototype-specific, separately applied "as-built"
and/or "modernized" injection-molded and photo-etched metal detail
parts and cab interior.
