Athearn Announces a New UPGRADED Run of Several Popular SD40-2's - NOW DCC Ready

Just what does "upgraded" mean in this case? These UP locos were released quite a while ago. The upgrades announced here include:

1) New cab - better detail, better windows.

2) Factory-installed grabs, MU hoses, separately applied round air tanks.

3) New see-thru radiator fans with fan blades and open exhaust port

4) New cast metal details (horns, antennas, etc) where applicable.

5) "New Technology" frame with detailed plastic fuel tank, hex drive and more weight.

6) Rewired to be DCC Ready using "Quick Plug" technology

7) Individual "Grain of Rice" bulbs for lighting.
