Amfleet I Phase VII 4-Car Bookcase Set

Amtrak Phase VII Amfleet II Coach 2-Car Set
During its beginnings, Amtrak inherited its passenger cars from other railroads. Old, steam heated and in dire need of upgrades, Amtrak set out to replace these cars in 1973 with the purchase of the first Amfleet cars from Budd. This initial batch of 492 cars were the Amfleet I – with a door and vestibule on either end (unlike their single-doored successor), these cars fell into a few different varieties but essentially broke down into coach and dinette variants. Despite the introduction of their newer cousins, Amfleet I’s are still in use by Amtrak, primarily for shorter distance routes.
Amtrak Phase VII Viewliner I Sleeper 2-Car Set

The Viewliner sleeper came into service around the same time as the Amfleet II, providing sleeping accommodations for Amtraks trains on such routes as the Lake Shore, Cardinal, Silver Star, and others. Together, the Amfleet II and Viewliner car series provide necessary overnight train service from Chicago, to New York, and even down to Florida and New Orleans.
Amtrak Phase III Viewliner II Baggage Passenger Cars

Viewliner II Baggage:
The Viewliner II is scheduled to be Amtraks newest addition to its fleet of single-level rolling stock, with planned rollouts of Baggage cars, diners, and Sleeping cars all expected to enter standard service through the next few years. Right now Amtrak is operating 55 Baggage cars in this new style, wearing a special Phase III heritage paint scheme that combines the classic red-white-and-blue stripes with Amtraks new modern logo and the phrase Amtrak America. While the Viewliner and Amfleet single-level cars are typically designed for use throughout the Eastern United States on long distance trains, the new Viewliner II Baggage cars are also used on Superliner trains, making them extremely versatile and a great addition to a model railroaders N scale Amtrak fleet!
Phase 7 is the newest livery for Amtrak equipment, each car features a dual blue look with different accent colors to indicate service levels. Red is first class, light blue is business class, and green is coach class.
