TAKI 1000 Special Painting for No.1000 Tank Car

Item Introduction

The TAKI 1000 is a high-performance tank car built for fast and efficient freight transport. Introduced in 1993, this model has seen steady upgrades over 28 years, with over 1,000 units produced by 2021.

To commemorate the milestone of the 1000th car, the TAKI 1000-1000 was given a special livery that combines the paint schemes of both Nippon Oil Transport Co. and Japan Oil Terminal Co., along with the three-color scheme of JR Freight, its operator.

  • Detailed handrails and bogies.
  • Newly developed plastic molding technology to accurately replicate the tapered cylindrical tank body.
  • Includes a reflector plate for use at the end of the train, which can be attached or removed just like the prototype.

165-800 Series Moonlight Green Type 3-Car Set

Item Introduction

The 165 Series trains powered the iconic overnight rapid service "Moonlight," running between Shinjuku and Niigata. Featuring comfortable reclining seats, they were designed to outshine highway buses on the Kan-Etsu Expressway. Launched in September 1987 as dedicated Moonlight stock, they also served the rapid "Fairway" between Shinjuku and Kuroiso.

Known for their consistent paint scheme with unique green, brown, or red color accents, this model captures the very first set in its striking green livery—now available in detailed HO scale.

  • Detailed printing (car numbers) and various markings.
  • Front display: “快速” (Rapid), with an included oval-shaped “Moonlight” headmark.
  • Depot marking: “新カヌ (Kami-Nuttari Operations Division)” and inspection mark: “新津工 62-10”.
  • Some front handrails are pre-installed.
  • Accessories correspond to ones originally included in (HO) 165-800 Series 3-Car Set.
