Dear N Scale Customers;
Kato (Japan) is excited to announce the March 2025 Releases
E26 Series "Cassiopeia Cruise" 6-Car Basic Set

● Item Introduction
● The E26 series was introduced in 1999 and served as a luxury sleeper train under the nickname Cassiopeia for many years. However, with the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen between Shin-Aomori and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto in March 2016, its regular operations were discontinued. Since then, the train has mainly been used for tour trains that circle Hokkaido and the Tohoku region and thus was fitted with the Shinkansen-type wireless communication equipment for its operation in the Seikan Tunnel. After the discontinuation of its service in Hokkaido, it currently operates as a special charter train under the names Cassiopeia Cruise and Cassiopeia Kiko, exclusively within the JR East network.
◆ The E26 Series will be newly produced with the specifications of the "Cassiopeia Cruise" after its regular operations. It can be combined with various locomotives, including the 3066-F EF81 95 Rainbow Livery, which is scheduled for simultaneous release. Additionally, by incorporating the 11-222 LED Interior Lights (Clear) for E26 Series, 6 cars' worth, which is also scheduled for re-release, a more realistic nighttime running scene can be recreated.
◆ Product Features

Seibu 101 Series (Early Version) New Color Scheme 6-Car Set

Later, air conditioning was added to some units, and some formations were expanded to 6-car through trains. It was widely used across most of Seibu's lines (excluding the Seibu Yurakucho Line and Yamaguchi Line), with a maximum formation of 10-cars. And despite being a central part of the Seibu Railway fleet, it eventually retired in 2010 and is now being preserved at the Yokoze Rolling Stock Center Depot.
