◆ The VT18.16 / BR175 was introduced in 1963 as a high-speed international long-distance diesel express train, representing the prestige of the East German State Railways (Deutsche Reichsbahn). Initially, it started as a 4-car set and later continued with a total of 4 to 6 cars, operating on routes such as Berlin–Copenhagen and Berlin–Vienna. After the reunification of East and West Germany and its subsequent privatization, it continued its service until 2003. Currently, one set is under restoration for operational revival, attracting the attention and popularity of railway enthusiasts across Europe.
