• Prototypes in service from 1984 to present

• Based on early production units with standard-width "Spartan" cab

• Available with ESU Sound & DCC featuring:

- Fully DCC compatible

- 14, 28, 128 speed steps

- Sound effects include 8-notch 710 prime mover, compressor, dynamic brake, air horns, and bells

• NEW Standard DC version now includes pre-installed 28mm round speaker for easy DCC sound conversion

• Same powerful drive as WalthersProto locos featuring:

- Five-pole skew-wound motor

- 14:1 gear ratio

- Helical-cut gears for quiet operation & easy multiple unit operation

- All-wheel drive & electrical pickup

- Dual machined brass flywheels

- Heavy die cast metal chassis

- Constant & directional LED headlights

• Molded drill starter points for grab irons in EMD SD50-60 Diesel Detail Kit (#910-256) sold separately

• 21 pin DCC Plug

• RP-25 metal wheels

• Proto MAX metal knuckle couplers
