Towing commuters all across the Chicagoland area, the MP36PH was originally built by Motive Power Inc. for Metra starting in 2003. In 2020, Metra began repainting the entire roof section of these locos black to hide soot stains resulting in a cleaner sleaker look. Now, Kato USA is releasing this new look on their-and-true MP36PH model. Each locomotive features an operational headlight, red marker lights for push-pull operation, and is available for order in DC/Analog and DCC versions.
