This Bachmann HO Scale Silver Series 40' Quad Hopper is based on cars used in the steam and classic-diesel eras. Quad, or 4-bay, hoppers hauled everything from coal to crushed stone and other aggregates. Later in their life, some cars were transitioned into maintenance-of-way use, further extending their usefulness. Today, examples can typically be found in museums and operating on photo freights with tourist railroads. The 40' Quad Hopper is part of the extensive line of Bachmann HO Scale freight cars.
