Kato - N Scale - Taiwan High Speed Rail 700T 6-Car Passenger Set

Kato (Japan) has announced the Taiwan High Speed Rail 700T 6-Car Passenger Set
The Taiwan Shinkansen is Taiwan’s first ever Shinkansen, which assumed service in 2007. It is operated by Taiwan Highspeed Rails (THSR) and covers the 345 km route between Taipei and Zuoying (Kaohsiung).
While the tracks and facilities are in the hands of the European Union, the rolling stock is based on the 700 Series Shinkansen used on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines in Japan, making it the first Shinkansen to go overseas.
It is characterized by a shorter nose than the Japanese Series 700 and by an orange belt stretching from the nose of the front car. The maximum speed of the 700T, which was designed to suit Taiwan’s climate, is 300 km/h and it covers the distance between Taipei and Kaohsiung.

Features
- The 700T was developed based on the Series 700 Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen. The characteristic orange and black lines on its body are accurately reproduced.
- Has a different car number than previous items.
- The displays for the train car number, no smoking sign, and the side destination display “Kaohsiung” have been printed on. (Included are also the following destination display stickers: “Nangang”, “Taipei”, and “Taichung”.)
- Equipped with a renowned power unit that enables operations of a full 12-car formation (a flywheel is not equipped).
- The head-/taillights on the front car are illuminated. The headlight uses a LED light with a warm yellow color.
- The middle gangways are equipped with KATO diaphragm couplers. The connection between the cars is reproduced realistically.
- The bookcase is green and has space for six cars.
