When Thomas the Tank Engine travels the world, he meets many locomotives from different cultures. In the United States, Thomas is introduced to Beau, who works for a mining company near the Grand Canyon.

The newest member of the Steam Team, Rebecca is a large, cheerful engine, who helps Gordon with hauling the Express Coaches and handles other mainline jobs on the Island of Sodor.
