Dear HO Modelers:  Tangent Models has just informed us of some new 4470 cu ft 3 Bay Grain Cars which are now available and will be shipping to us on Monday. Please remember these cars are already built. Tangent didn't make many and it is first come - first serve. So please get your requests in ASAP. Here are the details:

The Pullman-Standard PS-2CD 4740 cubic foot covered hopper was produced between 1966 and 1972, and remains in active service today throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.   One of the most distinctive Pullman covered hoppers, this common 100-ton car is used in grain, fertilizer, and other bulk services.  With more than 10,000 prototypes placed into service, the Tangent Scale Models HO-scale replica is a perfect addition to your layout or collection.  Our second product release includes the following seven schemes:

Our CURRENT product release includes the following nine roadnames:

  • MILW Milwaukee Road in the “original gray” as-built scheme from 1972.   These Evans-produced “clones” were built from Pullman-Standard plans and parts, and were purchased by several different railroads!   Our model comes complete with the Evans logo finely printed on the carbody.   Many of the Milwaukee Road cars remain in service today all over the USA, Canada, and Mexico, restencilled for various lease and regional railroad schemes.   These models are available in 6 road numbers!

  • NW Norfolk & Western in the distinctive “Hamburger scheme” from 1970 - and available in 12 road numbers!   These are the “original gray” cars built new for NW in 1971, delivered as NW class HC-70.   These NW replicas have been highly requested by you, our customers, since we released this model!   Our model faithfully reproduces the prototype, including all the correct fonts and the distinctive yellow box.   Do not forget to mix and match some of these with our still available “Claytor Font” PS4740s (still available see below).   They go great together in a “block,” just like on the real rails in the 1980s through today!
  • Private Operator series car #4: TLCX Bunge Corporation in the “original yellow/black” scheme.   Another highly requested paint scheme, the Bunge Corp cars were built in 1970 and remain in service today all over the USA, Canada, and Mexico.   They continue to ply the rails today, working in various lease and regional services wearing restencils.   Do not forget to check out our decals available for relettering cars like this!   Our Bunge replicas are available in 6 road numbers.
  • Private Operator series car #5: TLCX Early & Daniel in the bold yet understated “original white/black” scheme.   These handsome cars were a bold attempt by the small grain distributor to paint cars in a flashy new white scheme with large lettering and the distinct placard.   The Early and Daniel cars labored on in full revenue service well into the 21st century and could indeed still be out there.   Our replicas are available in 3 road numbers.
  • Private Operator series car #6: TLCX Producers Grain (Amarillo Texas) in the “original gray” scheme with placard and the distinctive large red lettering declaring the Amarillo, Texas home base.   These models have a lot going on!   Check out the detail on our placard!   The large group of Producers Grain cars were seen everywhere, and still are out there today.   These very attractive cars are available now from us in 6 road numbers.   Don't miss out! Order today!

  • Private Operator series car #7: TLCX Tabor & Company in the “original blue/black” scheme (Decatur, IL). The first of our three Tabor & Company series, this car is painted in the Tabor “standard” scheme with blue carbody with the Tabor, Illinois location identifier.   This was the most common scheme in the original series, or the series "standard".
  • Private Operator series car #8: TLCX Tabor & Company in the “original blue/black” WITH placard (Decatur, IL). The second of our three Tabor & Company series, this car is in the Tabor “standard” scheme with blue carbody with the Tabor, Illinois location identifier.   What makes this car distinctive is that it includes the “state of Illinois” placard identifying select Illinois River cities.   Check out the detail of this placard and trace the Illinois River from Chicago to Grafton IL, and watch as the placard calls out cities relevant to Tabor & Company (listed from North to South): La Salle, Kankakee, Peoria, Mapleton, Havana, Danville, Decatur, and St. Louis.
  • Private Operator series car #9: TLCX Tabor & Company in the “original gray/black” scheme (Decatur, IL). The third of our three Tabor & Company series, this car is in the Tabor “standard” scheme, but is noted on a gray carbody.   This was a Pullman-applied variation of the “standard” scheme, confirmed with photos!
