Athearn has announced the RTR 57 ft Trinity 3-Unit Spine Cars

PROTOTYPE AND BACKGROUND INFO:

The prototype for our model is based on a Trinity-built car owned by the TTX Company. These 70-ton cars (TTX class RAF30A) numbered TTRX 360817- 361116 first appeared on the rails in the late 1990’s. The Athearn model is faithful to the prototype allowing modelers to load a variety of trailers and containers.

MODEL FEATURES:

• Precision die-cast metal spine structure

• Separately applied brake piping

• Fine ladder detail

• McHenry scale knuckle spring couplers installed

• 33” solid nickel silver wheels with RP25 contours operate on all popular brands of track

• Trailer hitches come separately in raised and collapsed configurations so the customer can apply them to the model to suit their preferences

• Etched metal walkways

• Athearn’s 40’ trailers and containers are perfect loads for these cars

• Weighted for optimal performance

• Minimum radius: 20”
