A Little About The Prototype...

The NCTD Sprinter provides modern diesel-powered commuter service in Northern San Diego County. It connects with trains of Amtrak’s Surfliner, plus commuter services of Metrolink and the Coaster. The PIKO models feature new tooling for the larger rooftop AC units.

• Directional White/Red Changing Head and Tail Lights
• Overall Length = 479mm / 18.8"
• Minimum Radius = 360mm / 14.2"

The Whitcomb 65-Ton Diesel loco (also known as the 65-DE-19A) is a unique and detailed loco that actually helped win WWII. The Whitcomb 65-Ton Diesel Locos were built in America to fit the tight clearances of European railroads. After the US Army Transportation Corps was done with them, some even returned to serve on railroads and industrial short lines all across America.
