Bernina Express is a tourist train that travels between Chur in Switzerland and Tirano in Italy. This is a passenger train with side window of panoramic glass that draws an elegant curve from the shoulder of the car body. KATO will release with new designed logo which used from 2018.

The latest train Abe8/12 “Allegra” of the Swiss Rhaetische Bahn will be re-run and released with the "Bernina Express".

C62 Tokaido Line (With New Motor) Steam Locomotive

Steam Locomotive C62 appeared as a large locomotive to pull passenger trains on main lines in 1948, designed by combining the boiler of D52 on Hudson type axle arrangement 2-C-2 (meaning 2 leading wheel + 3 driving wheel + 2 trailing wheel axles)

After appearance of limited expresses “Tsubame (swallow)” and “Hato”(pigeon), the locomotive was selected to draw the expresses with the head marks displayed and the run board painted white on the edges.

Series SUHA44 Limited Express “HATO”

Kato will make a scale model of the famous limited express “Hato” which traveled on Tokaido mainline. Following the revival of “Heiwa (the later “Tsubame”) in 1949, the limited express “HATO” appeared in the next year.

EF58 Electric Locomotive

C62 Tokaido Line and #3029-4 EF58 Large Window, which will be simultaneously released, are recommended as locomotives for the series SUHA44 Limited Express “HATO”.

ED19 Simplified Louvers (2 Cars)

A total of 6 locomotives ED19 were imported in 1926 from USA. It is one of a few electric locomotives imported from Baldwin- Westinghouse and numbered ED53 in Japan. It is characterized with compact style in the short 12 m total length which has been enjoying a long-standing popularity among the fans. After it was renovated and renumbered ED19 before the war, all of the locomotives ED19 were gathered together on Iida line and drew freight trains in the northern area of Iida line, between Iida and Tatsuno.
