Bombardier ALP-45DP "Dual Mode" Locomotive

The ALP-45DP is a “dual mode” locomotive, capable of drawing power from either overhead electrical wires or its own pair of 12-cylinder Caterpillar diesel engines. These flexible locomotives were designed to provide a one-seat commute from diesel-only lines into electrified territory. Produced by Bombardier Transportation in Kassel, Germany, the first ALP-45DP locomotive entered service on NJ TRANSIT on May 30, 2012.
This release includes four road numbers. All are available in DCC Ready & DCC w/Sound versions.
Features:

- Pantograph (non-functioning) can be positioned up or down
- Five pole skewed armature motor with dual flywheels for optimum performance at all speeds

Silver version includes:
- 8-pin socket and 21-pin plug for DCC (decoder ready)
- Available space for speaker
Gold version includes:
- ESU LokSound decoder, supporting all DCC programming modes
- Flexible mapping of function keys F0 to F28
- A total of six DCC function outputs
- Follows all NMRA DCC standards and recommended practices
Analog (DC) Operation Features:
- The LokSound Select Dual-Mode decoder allows your Atlas Gold Series locomotive to be used on DC as well as on DCC layouts.
- Please note that the Atlas Quantum Engineer will NOT operate an Atlas Gold Series locomotive equipped with a LokSound Select decoder on an analog (DC) layout. However, the sound and lighting functions of the LokSound Select decoder in the Atlas Gold Series locomotive can be controlled by an easy-to-use basic DCC system
- Also note that on a DC-powered layout, a DCC and sound equipped locomotive CANNOT be consisted with another locomotive that does not also have both DCC and sound. (This statement does NOT apply to DCC-equipped locomotives operating on a DCC layout.)
Bombardier Multi-Level Cab Car

These cab cars are used on the opposite end of the train from ALP-45DP locomotive to facilitate “push-pull” operations, where the engineer in the cab car can control the locomotive pushing from the other end of the train. A cab car provides an engineer with all of the same controls as a locomotive cab, allowing the train to reverse direction without turning around. Cab cars also include all standard locomotive safety features, such as a horn and bell. The multi-levels’ fixed 2-2 seating arrangement provides ample legroom and maximizes passenger comfort while increasing capacity. This release includes a variety of road numbers.

Bombardier Multi-Level Trailer

Bombardier Multi-Level Trailer coaches without cabs come with toliets and without. The toilet version and have a passenger seating capacity of 132 commuters. The trailers cars that do not have a toilet, have seating for 142 passengers. The multi-level trailer cars are always operated in matching sets (with a multi-level cab car on one end and a locomotive on the other).
The Atlas multi-level trailer cars, are offered in both prototype configurations, with and without toilets. This release offers a variety of road numbers.
