Dear PWRS PORTERS Customers:

PWRS plans to announce a brand new model railcar to be manufactured by North American Railcar Corporation this weekend at the Springfield show.  It will be distributed exclusively by PWRS.

A couple of years ago, our researcher approached us and said, “I think I found a car for NARC to consider doing.”

When we were shown the car, we responded, “I think this car is made by another manufacturer."

It was explained to us that this car, while appearing to be similar to a car made by another manufacturer, is actually a completely different car.  This is a model that has never been produced by any model railroad company. There are over 90 different paint schemes! We will make the car to the exacting and prototypically correct designs you would expect from NARC. 

A few customers have been shown the early plans for this car during test marketing; soon it will be public knowledge. Initial comments from customers were very promising. When doing test marketing with 50-100 customers, over 30% of the cars were pre-sold.

When we made our Hawker Siddely Grain Cars, there were 15 different structural variations, the Coal Gonds have 7, the NSC Potash Cars have 7. This new car will have 35 different structural variations!

Our factory in China said “We have never done a project this complicated."

We told another major manufacturer a year ago that we were doing this car. They said they have looked at this car for 15 years and asked us which version we were going to produce.

We said, “All of them."

They told us, "We will back off because if we did the car, we would only do one structural variation and put all the paint schemes on the one variation."

Since we always want our important customers to have access to new NARC products first, we will have the new cars viewable to order on PORTERS Friday night under the featured reservations section of your Reservation Sheet.

We will offer 16 different road paint schmes for the first run. 6 road numbers per paint scheme (2 x 3 car sets A & B).  You will also have the option to order singles if you wish.

A few things to consider about this car:

• It has been requested for years by Canadian and American Modelers
• There are over 90 road reporting marks available to produce both in Canadian and US Roads
• Other model companies have passed on this car due to its complexities
• The prototype cars have been seen all over North America from 1974 to present day
• We will have 16 different road schemes for customers to choose from on the first release
• All paint schemes will have 6 road numbers to choose from
• Cars will be equipped with NARC trucks with low friction wheels
• Couplers will be made by Micro-Trains
• Many photo etched parts will be used
