As part of the 1976 celebration of the United States’ Bicentennial, the Milwaukee Road painted one of their freight SD40-2 locomotives into red, white and blue commemorative paint. This locomotive joined many others from roads such as the Burlington Northern and Southern Pacific in celebrating the USA’s 200th  birthday.

This locomotive will be offered as part of the Kato USA Kobo Custom Paint line, hand-painted and decorated by a master modeler in Japan. This was previously offered in 2013 but eventually sold out. We are re-opening orders for these specially painted units!

• Locomotives feature directional Golden White LED headlights.
• Early: DCC friendly and ready for drop in decoder installation of a Train Control Systems K1D4
• Low flange wheels
