The N-8 caboose was the last designed by the Pennsylvania Railroad. 199 were built during 1950 & 1951. The N-8 had a unique streamlined cupola and extra handrails attached to the car body ends. This provided extra protection for train crew members standing on the end platforms. Some N-8's were equipped with train phone antennas, giving them a very distinctive look.
The N-8 proved to be a very durable caboose, serving the PRR, Penn Central and Conrail. Additionally, approximately 20 were sold to the Illinois Central Gulf by Penn Central.
This release includes a variety of schemes and road numbers to choose from.
