Intermodal containers are an important of modern railroading. They are most often carried in specially designed well cars and sometimes on flat cars. Generally, they are carried by themselves, but sometimes they will be carried on a chassis, especially when on flat cars. They are also often transported to and from the intermodal yard on a chassis. So these 45 ft chassis will be a great additon to any intermodal operations on your layout, and make a nice detail part in other areas of your layout.
