Update From Rapido:
Rapido initially planned to produce only the NSC version of the 3800 Cu Ft Canadian Cylindrical Hoppers, but has announced plans to also produce the Marine Industries version at a later date. No road names or numbers for the Marine Industries cars have been announced. Tooling for the NSC cars is moving along and Rapido has provided a picture of a hand painted sample so show the potential model. As with all preproduction samples, there will be aspects of the car that may not be correct at this point, but will be corrected before production of actual models for sale. Look for more information on the Marine Industries cars when Rapido provides it.

The prototype cars are 100 tons in capacity with four hopper compartments totaling 3800-3850 cubic feet. Originaly designed by Marine Industries in 1965, the cars were also manufactured by Canada’s other two car builders, Hawker Siddeley and National Steel Car.
Canada’s two major railways, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific, are the major owners of this car along with Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo. This car was also produced for the following leasing companys: CGLX, NCHX and Procor. These cars carry bulk commodities like cement, potash, and other dry materials. These cars can still be seen all over North America today.
The first release of this new model includes an undecorated kit along with multiple road numbers in ten schemes.
