Update for July 29th 2016:
We just received copies of our Invoices for the large shipment of Pt St Charles Cabooses. This shipment will include the main CN Caboose. We have also been advised that the main CN Caboose SKU 1044-700000 is sold out. This would include the 4 road numbers that make up the set 1044-700000.
Of the 1,000 Cabooses we have coming there are very few of each road number left. All of you who have confirmed orders, expect arrival at PWRS late next week.
Trueline has informed us the Special Run Cabooses and the Provincial Packs are the next group to be shipped to us. We will post a ship date as soon as it is conformed.
Update as of June 21st 2016:
We just talked to Trueline Trains, and the majority of the Point St Charles Cabooses are coming by ship (land) to Ontario. The International ones are already in (we have more Intrernational Cabooses being shipped with the sea-land shipment). The balance of the paint schemes will arrive in 3-4 weeks and will be shipped out in a staggered manor. We should point out to our customers that we are almost sold out of most SKU and if you want a specific road number now is the time to ask. Customers are now seeing the quality of the International Cabooses and are adding significant quantities to their original orders.
The first batch of the TrueLine Trains HO Scale Pointe St. Charles Cabooses that came in recently are going quickly. We still have a few left. The remainder of the first release of this long awaited model is on its way now and should be here soon.
Trueline Trains had earlier test samples at the Springfield Train Show. Below are some images. There were a few issues with regard to the paint and graphics on the cabooses that were noted and corrected on the final models. Issues such as spacing of numbers and font, black sill paint, and sides of end hand rails will be white were corrected. So these pictures are not of the final test samples, but for the many modelers who are not in the local area, the pictures show that these really will be worth the wait.
As expected, demand for this model has been very high. Combined with the small production run of these, they are all sold out at TrueLine Trains. PWRS has a limited number of these still available for reservation by modelers. Additionally, our 5 PWRS Exclusive road numbers are selling quickly, there are only 50 copies of each being made. Modelers who wish to get one of these need to order quickly before they are all sold out.

This Pointe St. Charles cabooses are a truly unique take on the caboose. Named for the Canadian National shops at which they were built, 548 were produced between 1970 and 1977.
Instead of building from scratch, Canadian National started with 40 boxcars, striping them down to the frame and trucks, and then building back up from there. The result was a modern caboose offering the crews that used them both a safe and efficient working environment and a comfortable living environment.
The design turned out to be very practical and durable. While Canadian National built many for themselves, many were also built for other railroads across Canada, and even a few in the United States.

Today, sadly, The caboose is seldom seen in railroading. However it will always have a special place in the heart of railroaders and modelers alike.
These great cabooses were offered a few years ago in brass. As great as brass is, it is still expensive and many modelers were not able to purchase the cabooses they would have liked. Even those modelers who did buy some of the brass versions, were not able to buy as many as they wanted.
There was a project underway to bring these out in plastic by a company that recently "ceased to operate". When that company "ceased to operate", it took that project and those deposits with it. Neither Pacific Western Rail Systems or TrueLine Trains can honor those orders or deposits.
TrueLine Trains is producing a variety of road names, schemes and road number to choose from. Additionally, Pacific Western Rail Systems has arranged for five PWRS Exclusive versions of the caboose that were used and seen the Western Canada area with Canadian National and BC Rail. These were frequently seen in operation with our 4000cf Canadian Coal Gondolas.
All products in this release are limited production run, first ordered, first filled items. The PWRS Exclusive models are limited to a production run of 50 each and there are only 100 to 200 of each of the rest of the models being produced by TrueLine Trains. This is the entire production run for ALL stores, not just PWRS.
PLEASE NOTE:
TrueLine has already committed to the number of copies to be made and can not increase the number of copies being made. Modelers who want a specific caboose should order now. The cabooses are sold in multipacks and preference to filling orders will be for modeler ordering the complete set. Orders for modelers ordering specific single road numbers will be filled as much as possible, but PWRS reserves the right to substitute road numbers based on available stock.
SPECIAL NOTE:
There are a number of modelers who have approached us at shows and told us about the monies they have lost due the situation with CMT. If you have a paid copy of your deposit (Proof you paid them for a Caboose) of your order from CMT, call us and we can see if we can help, ask for Dan. Or e mail him at [email protected]
