The PS-1 was a very successful boxcar design with cars appearing is just about any scheme you could imagine during their day. To improve the ride of the car for goods that needed a smother ride, a car undercusion frame design was developed. This helped to minimize the normal bumps and rattles of transport. The double doors provided easier unloading and loading of the cars and the ability to carry larger items.
