During the 1970's, there were a number of new box car designs offered by the major manufactures to address the needs of the railroads and car lease operations. The FMC 5347 box car was one of these cars and proved to be popular with many railroads and other operators, appearing in a wide variety of schemes. Today, many examples of this car can still be seen riding the rails of North America.
The first release of this new model includes an undecorated version along with seven schemes with three road number available for each.
