A hint to our PORTERS customers, soon PWRS will announce our next two tooling projects for new, never before produced cars. You will want CP and BCR SD40-2's
Stay Tuned
Bowser started from scratch with this model. It is not an altered U.S. EMD SD40-2, but a prototypically accurate Canadian GMD SD40-2 complete with many prototypically correct road specific detail. 11 different body versions with road numbers in twelve schemes are part of the first release.
The first release of these locomotives has arrived at Bowser. These are on the way to us now, it took a little longer than expected, as we have so many coming in. We've had huge numbers of orders for these and many are nearly sold out. Bowser is sold out and some dealers were not able to cover all orders. We have very limited supplies of many road numbers still available, modelers who have been thinking about ordering any of these, or who want to order more should do so immediately.
There are not many video reviews of these units out, so we did our best to find one that shows the excellent level of detail, working class lights and impressive sound of these units. Not only are they the only true Canadian GMD SD40-2's, they might also be the best HO Scale SD40-2 to be produced in plastic. They'd also look great with some really prototypically accurate North American Railcar Corporation never before produced rolling stock. More on that in the coming weeks, for now, enjoy the video:

The EMD SD40-2 locomotive is one of the most versatile and successful locomotives of all time. From 1972 to 1989, nearly 4000 were built for both the North American market and export. Powered by a 16 cylinder 3000 horsepower turbocharged 645 prime mover, these locomotives have a well-deserved reputation for reliability and dependability.
Many Canadian railroads ordered these locomotives. These were built by EMD's Canadian subsidiary, GMD in London, Ontario. While of the same basic design, there were many differences in the Canadian version of the SD40-2 to meet the needs of Canadian railroads. Nearly 700 were built and most remain in service today either with their original owners, or with new owners in both the United States and Canada.
