These custom runs of E9 locomotives will be repainted and re-detailed from existing UP units. They have been additionally modified to accurately represent the UP’s current E9’s that it uses with excursion trains. They feature enhancements such as modified roof details, ditch lights and roof beacon (non functioning), modified front headlight bezel, and updated printing!
UP’s E9 #949, 951 and 963B are used with its Business Trains and Excursion Trains alongside locomotives like the FEF-3 #844, and are the last of the classic diesel Streamliners. Operating as a trio, these locomotives will be a perfect match to run with Kato’s 106-086 N Scale Excursion Train set!

As part of its Kobo custom line, Kato USA offers special exclusive production runs of special paint schemes and super detailed cars! These items are custom built and modified by a master modeler in Japan and are built to order. That means that each one is carefully and meticulously detailed by hand - specially for you!
While productions of these cars are not specifically limited, due to their built-toorder nature Kato USA recommends pre-ordering at your local hobby shop before the base units run out!
