A letter just received from River Point Models:

Greetings All!
 
The long awaited River Point Station short cab truck models are currently awaiting clearence from US Customs. River Point Models are doing our best to expedite them to North America as quickly as they can. Obviously, they will make every effort to get the models turned around as soon as they arrive in Rhode Island, however, with the Holidays just around the corner they cannot ensure dispatch of all orders before the New Year. But the vehicles are on the way.
 
As most of you are aware, the original factory who River Point selected about 2-years ago was unable to make the models for them, and River Point had to start all over with another factory this past August. Considering the short amount of time that they had, they did a very good job for River Point. And, even though they substantially increased the quantities on most of the models at that time, some customers were still unable to obtain enough models to fulfill their requirements. River Point has contacted the factory, and they have agreed to make a partial re-run for River Point, with expected delivery in February 2017. The price will be the same as for the current run, but only the 10-12 most popular SKUs will be made. Primary Colors and Major Railroad Names.
 
Since River Point is already working on the utility trucks and attack fire trucks for May/June 2017 delivery, as well as the first of the E-Series vans for October 2017 delivery, River Point needs to move quickly. (expect more information about these new models in the new year)

To expedite the rerun, quantities will be made only to order, and models not receiving the minimum required production quantity will not be made. If we do not receive enough orders to meet the supplier’s minimums, the order will not proceed. In order to release the order to our supplier by the end of —December 15, 2016—and no additional orders or quantity changes will be accommodated thereafter.

Below on the PWRS Media Page is an updated list of all vehicles coming—kindly review it and add any quantities desired. We will give River Point any additional quantities on Thursday night (Tomorrow). Please be aware that, some of the limited editions, and variations made with the first run have been are already sold out at River Point but PWRS may have a couple left to allowcate.

Additionally, to facilitate production the white truck, 536-5155.01 (this items is way oversold), the lighter weight white dually has been replaced with 536-5755.01, an F-450 with heavy duty rims and flared front fenders.
 
We look forward to your requests. Many cutomers have complained about not being able to get specific colors or roads which we thought were sold out. Now you have a final opportunity to get some of the colors we thought were gone if you act fast.

The three new SKU's are 618-538575501, 618-538575507, 618-538575527. You will find them at the bottom of the page.

Several dealers have expressed a desire for additional quantities of the short cab pickup trucks, and we are now working to accommodate these wishes within a short time frame. The original email explains the circumstances in greater detail. Incidentally, the first run is awaiting Customs clearance, and should be delivered to our parent company’s Oneco facility on Monday, December 19.
 
If you are interested in participating in the second run, please ensure that we receive your order form no later than close of business on Thursday, December 15. As explained, this second run will be made in quantities to order, and no additional orders can be accepted after Friday. SKUs no longer listed were specials and/or limited editions, and are not going to be remade.
 
Note that the white dually, 536-5755.01 is different from the current run dually 536-5155.01. The new version has the wider front fender flares, and heavier duty rims.

Dear HO Scale Customers:

as many of you are aware we are waiting for the arrival of the latest selection of River Point Vehicles. We were supposed to have our vehicles in during the summer. They were delayed, they are coming for Dec 2016. Here is a letter from the management of River Point Explaining why the delay.

A couple of items (paint colors) were canceled, and we have finally received images of a few cars we were missing. River Point will be sending us in a few days images of the Special Run Canadian Pacific Vehicles.

Also remember, River Point Vehicles usually sell out as soon as they arrive, so if there is anything else you want, get your additional orders in now. River Point said, they increased qty coming on some of the items due to additional last minute orders coming in and since they were switching suppliers they could raise their qty coming. All of the white vehicles usually are the first to disapear. Don't be disapointed.

As most of you are aware, the short cab pickup trucks were to have been
shipped on multiple occasions from China. The models were finally
firmly promised for July 2016, and in June we received the final samples.
Unfortunately, they were still not unacceptable samples; so, after an
18-month ordeal we received an email from the supplier advising they
would not be able to make the models to our requirements. Accordingly,
the tooling was transferred by mutual agreement to another supplier
before the end of July.


In the meantime, one round of undecorated samples, and a round of fully
decorated samples have already been received. The samples are very
good, and models should start to be available in December.

All models are non-operating, highly detailed, and factory assembled. Models feature precisely molded ABS plastic components, authentic paint, and either painted or reduced-luster plated, simulated-chrome finish grille, bumpers, and wheels, as appropriate. Models include tinted clear window inserts and pre-colored interiors, as well as a detailed chassis. To facilitate interior detailing, major assemblies are held together by friction fit, and may be carefully disassembled.  All variants are also available as undecorated kits.
